MISTAKES THE YOUNG MAKE (8)

MISTAKES THE YOUNG MAKE (8)

My late Grandfather queried that day, “What is Anuoluwapo doing? Is he opening a law office? Why cant he open a law office alongside ministry also?”

My dad was there to rescue me from the questions as I just looked at Grandpa at that dining table in Eruwa.

Dad said to him, “He has made a wise choice. I really wish I was bold enough to take the same step many years ago. But I am glad I see him do ministry full time”.

It took Grandpa time to see what his grandson was doing.

I know all the debate and tags around full-time ministry. Economic pressures and financial hardship has kept a lot of young ones from responding to God’s call.

I asked an older minister once that, “What message did your generation hear that made you abandon the pursuit of material things to impact the kingdom in strange places? And are we still hearing such messages?”

I asked again, “What message did your generation hear that they knew that there was indeed a Christian in an office who were willing to resign when corrupt options were thrown at them? Are we still hearing the same message?”

Serving God is still rewarding. Souls are still priceless. Do not give your best to the corporate world and then at 65, you tell us you are ready to respond to God’s call. God does not want your left over.

God is still recruiting the best and the brightest for kingdom agenda. If as a believer, your only purpose in that office is to get a salary, it will be rather unfortunate.

The devil is not scared of your career. Your career does not threaten hell- your calling does! Your calling is to pull men from the tracks of hell into the kingdom with both your lifestyle and direct engagement.

And here you are- boxed into the corner! Which is more expensive- salary or souls? What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world but loses his soul?

Weigh the entire material world and a soul- a soul outweighs it by far!

If you are called to leave all behind to serve God, do it proudly. If you are not, give him your best on your job or business not just by excellent deliveries but also by reaching out and touching lives.

Excellence at work is not an end in itself. It is a means to an end- bringing men into the kingdom.

Remember, give God your best now. Do not wait till old age.

There is love in sharing
