“MUMMY, I CANNOT SEE MYSELF”

“MUMMY, I CANNOT SEE MYSELF”

We all sat on the bed. The mirror was right opposite us. Irewamiri and I were in the middle of a conversation. The next thing we heard was Danielle saying, “I cannot see myself”.

We were initially confused. Then it struck me that she was trying to see herself in the mirror. Then I responded, “You cannot see yourself until you are seated directly in front of the mirror. She adjusted and saw herself”.

Beloved, alignment with the mirror makes you see yourself. What is the mirror? The mirror is God’s word. The Word of God clears confusion, reinforces clarity and improves your confidence.

“If you listen to the Word and don’t live out the message you hear, you become like the person who looks in the mirror of the Word to discover the reflection of his face in the beginning. You perceive how God sees you in the mirror of the Word , but then you go out and forget your divine origin.” James 1:23‭-‬24 TPT

The Word of God reveals “you” to you. Your identity is unveiled by the Word of God. You can see a template of who God says you are and His plans for you.

If you do not sit or stay with the Word, the world and circumstances can sell you the wrong image. You can have a distorted view of yourself.

Looking into the Word does not have to come with commendation all the time, there are times it comes with correction. You may have to make adjustment. You may have to deal with compromise, complacence and character deficiency but the essence is to ensure that you grow and blossom.

When you cannot see the mirror, you need to make quick adjustments. Sometimes, you may have to change where you are sitting. At times, you may be too far from the mirror.

If the company you keep is keeping you away from the Word, you may need to change that. But by all means, look into the Word of God.

You need to see yourself before you believe a lie!
