THE FIRST SONG OLIVE SANG

THE FIRST SONG OLIVE SANG

As Olive stepped into the Bathroom that Sunday Morning, as though to put an icing on the cake that nothing would stop her from making it to church, not even sleep. She got into the bathtub and began to sing:

“I love Jesus. I love Jesus. He’s my friend”

First, your love for God will always cost you something. Second, can love really be complete without songs?

David is an amazing template of a man who loves God. God actually made a great reference to David himself. The Lord called him “A man after my heart”

“After removing Saul, he made David their king. God testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.”
Acts 13:22 NIV

David would never joke with Lord. He sought the Lord early with so much passion. It was a conscious effortfully rooted in understanding and wrapped in love.

O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water.
Psalms 63:1 NKJV

As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?
Psalms 42:1‭-‬2 NKJV

What is the first thing you do in the morning? Do you wake up first, press your phone for a while then remember that you are meant to pray or worship?

David never joked with God. He would never allow conversation of iniquity in his domain.

There’s no room in my home for hypocrites, for I can’t stand chronic liars who flatter and deceive.
Psalms 101:7 TPT

David never joked with God. He insisted that he would never give to God casually.

Then the king said to Araunah, “No, but I will surely buy it from you for a price; nor will I offer burnt offerings to the Lord my God with that which costs me nothing.” So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.”
II Samuel 24:24 NKJV

  • no lover of the Lord lives, talks or gives casually. They treasure God wholeheartedly*. That is the greatest commandment of the Lord:

“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?” Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
Matthew 22:36‭-‬37 NKJV

Do you really love God?
