DADDY, YOU ARE NOT THERE

Danielle and I were looking through some memorable moments on the phone. They captured her first steps and other things. When we got to a particular one, she said to me, “Daddy, you are not there”.

I smiled to her, “I was the one capturing moment. I was the one behind the scene”.

There is an artwork I grew up seeing at home where a man complained to God that when the journey started, there were four marks of foot prints.

However, he complained when all he saw were two marks of foot prints. He told God, “Why did you abandon me?” The Lord replied him that, “I was walking with you when you saw the four foot prints. When you saw two foot prints, they were mine and not yours. I did not abandon. I carried you”.

There are moments on life’s journey when you feel as if God is not there. God actually is. God is the one who makes things work behind the scene.

He made a promise that “He will leave you nor forsake you”.

When Moses lifted the rod and the Red Sea parted, all the people saw was the lifted rod but by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, we knew God rolled back the waters all night.

“Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided”
Exodus 14:21 NIV

David did many mighty things but it was only through God.

“I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all your enemies from before you. Now I will make your name like the names of the greatest men on earth.”
1 Chronicles 17:8 NIV

Many saw the hand, sling and stone of David but it was actually God working through him.

Do not be frustrated this season.
Do not feel abandoned this season.
If you have God, you have All you need.

When you don’t see the four foot prints, be rest assured that God has carried you. He will never leave you or forsake you.
