STOP. LOOK. CHECK.

Olive walked out of the room. When she stepped out, she knew that I followed her. Some few steps thereafter, she stopped and looked again. This time around, she noticed that I had stopped so she stopped also.

She stood on the same spot. I was speaking with her mum. We both noticed that she stopped. Eventually when I began to move, she also began to move with greater excitement.

The Holy Spirit said to me at that point, “Son, that is how your relationship with the Father must look like- Always stop to check whether you still have His manifest presence with you”. It stuck!

Let us hit it straight- As a believer, we are nothing without the presence of God. We must ensure that we constantly stop to check if we are still on the same path with God the Father.

Moses knew the journey was better with the Lord leading the nation of Israel. At a point, he told God that they would go no where except the Lord goes with them.

Look at this Conversation:

Lord: I will personally go with you, Moses, and I will give you rest—everything will be fine for you.

Moses: If you don’t personally go with us, don’t make us leave this place.
Exodus 33:14‭-‬15 NLT

Moses understood that the Red Sea and other challenges do not respond to him but God with Him.

That was what Samson took for granted:

Then she said, “The Philistines are on you, Samson!” He woke up, thinking, “I’ll go out, like always, and shake free.” He didn’t realize that God had abandoned him.
Judges 16:20 MSG

Once you realise that physical effort has replaced what you used to get done by His presence and His Grace, you know that you must stop, look and check if you still have the approval of the Father with you on the journey.

When last did you have some check?

Are you simply going on whether God is there or not?

Have you become indifferent?

When was the last time you got an instruction from the Lord?

Stop. Check Again.
