“THEY REMAINED WITH HIM” (The Importance of Staying Power)

“THEY REMAINED WITH HIM” (The Importance of Staying Power)

While sharing with us one day, my Pastor in my days serving the nation said, “The challenge with most believers is that they do not stay long enough on one assignment to see it produce results”. I have seen it to be so.

When staying power is non-existent, fruitfulness is affected and transformation becomes almost impossible. A tree that is not rooted in the ground cannot be fruitful. It takes staying to become fruitful. That comes with a lot of patience.

When the two disciples of John that followed Jesus saw where he lived, they spent the entire day with Jesus. By the next day, they began to invite others to join them. Well! We know that they spent all their lives with Jesus.

He said to them, “Come and see.” They came and saw where He was staying and remained with Him that day (now it was about the tenth hour). John 1:39 NKJV

How long did it take you to settle down for training and discipleship in the church you are a part of now? How long have you been marking the attendance register every Sunday but you have refused to submit to the training structures?

A lot of people are comfortable with strolling into church simply to attend even though God and their destiny require much more. If God cannot get you to stay and be rooted, it becomes hard to see the fruits of staying in your life.

From years of pastoring, I have discovered that the people with the least commitment to church are most times the ones who demand the most. Those who are quick to point fingers are those whose hands are not a deck.

Paul warned us about the danger of being blown here and there:

And then our immaturity will end! And we will not be easily shaken by trouble, nor led astray by novel teachings or by the false doctrines of deceivers who teach clever lies.
Ephesians 4:14 TPT

Inability to make decisions about your life is a sign of immaturity. You may think you have the vibes of a “big boy” when you are not committed to church but heaven looks at you, heaven sees immaturity.

One the prayers that must be on your lips consistently is “Lord, bless me with early awareness and satisfy me early with good things”

Do you have staying power for godly things, relationships and divinely ordained institutions? If you don’t, you need to change!

There is love in sharing
