WHY YOU STILL STRUGGLE WITH UNGODLINESS

A dear teacher shared how he got victory over masturbation and pornography as a young convert. He was a believer but still struggled with sin.

Then one day, he saw what the Word of the Lord said:

“For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age” Titus 2:11‭-‬12 NIV

The Word “Say NO” jumped out at him. From then whenever he felt the urge to sin no matter where he was, he would not think it in his mind, he would speak out and say “No”. Sometimes his friends would ask him what the matter was, he would smile and say, “I am settling a spiritual matter”.

Friends, every time you are tempted to sin and suggestions begin to come, simply know that there is a foul spirit hanging in the atmosphere.

Remember, the devil is not omniscient so he does not know what you are thinking. So, go beyond thinking to talking. Do not think back at the devil’s schemes and suggestions- talk back. Say No!

That’s what Paul told Titus, “Say No to Ungodliness”. You don’t battle thoughts with thoughts. You respond with words.

When next you face a temptation, do not do it with an open mind and a shut mouth. Close your mind to the thoughts of the devil and open your mouth and release the sword of the spirit that demoralises hell!

You are not a victim.
You are a victor.
