YOU CANNOT EAT FROM THERE

As I stepped out of the room, I noticed that my daughter had dipped her hand inside a wastebasket. She picked up a maize cob and was about putting it in her mouth when I saw her. I quickly grabbed it from her and said to her, “Olive, you cannot eat from there”.

If you are well pastored, you cannot feed on junks. It is the assignment of teachers and fathers as delegated shepherds to ensure you lie down only in green pastures. A good shepherd will never allow the sheep to lie down and eat what will upset their stomach and hinder their growth.

If you see anyone whose life looks like a spiritual junkyard, you do not have to look far- such a person is far from teachers.

The writer of Hebrews gave an admonishment that is a solid warning for us all on the journey of faith:

Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings. Hebrews 13:7‭-9a NIV

Your decisions in life become easy when you take your compass from the Word of God and the examples of your teachers in life and destiny.

When a member of the body is disconnected from the joints of the body, it brings pain to the body. A lot of those who transfer junks are disconnected from the joint.

A teacher like Paul would teach and also stand as a model of what has been taught so he can say, “Follow me as I follow Christ”. It is easier to say, “Do not eat what I don’t eat” than to find a cure for poison.

A teacher is more than just an instructor. They are our compass when it comes to critical decisions in life. If you lose track of your teachers, you will be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings.

When you want to make critical decisions, do you remember any example based on God’s Word that your teacher gave or that you have seen in his or her life? If you cannot, you are far from your teachers.

When you are far from your teachers, your decisions will look strange- it will show that it has a different spirit! Do not get carried away.

Or else, you will seat at the table with Jesus but you will be thinking of the words of the Pharisees and Sadducees. That is how Satan gets the room to operate through a man!

Retrace your steps. Do not get carried away!
